Heron Festival

Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, 2009

Complete information is found on the Heron Festival web site or phone (800) 525-3743.

This fun, family-oriented weekend features birding and nature walks, exhibits, vendor booths, music, and children’s activities. Admission fee to the park for the two-day event is waived. No other event showcases the natural beauty of Lake County so well. The park Visitor Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. All activities are free except for the Wildflower Brunch and pontoon boat-rides.

The Wildflower Brunch, served Saturday only, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, is prepared by CLSPIA. CLSPIA is renown for its "fill-your-own" omelets, accompanied by pastries, fruit and coffee. Cost is only $15. Reservations are requested.

Take advantage of this once a year opportunity for a pontoon boat ride to see lake and shoreline birds. Each ninety-minute tour, Saturday and Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will have an expert bird guide aboard. Cost $15. Reservations are required.
