| Participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count |
| The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), February 13 – 16, connects bird lovers around the globe to observe and record data on more than 7,000 bird species. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just starting out, it’s easy (and fun!) to take part. Simply set up your feeders, watch the visitors that stop by and tally your count. It’s a rewarding activity for families, a great project for kids or grandkids, and an engaging learning experience for classrooms. Every bird you count contributes to a worldwide snapshot of bird health and well-being. The GBBC is a joint project of Cornell Lab of Ornithology, National Audubon Society, Birds Canada and is sponsored by Wild Birds Unlimited. Visit www.birdcount.org to join the GBBC and become a citizen scientist. Stop by the store for everything you need to bring more birds to your backyard and make this year’s count your best yet! |
